Coyote royalty takes field
During KWU’s homecoming festivities this weekend, a new king and queen were declared. During half time at the football game on Saturday, the candidates lined up and were introduced in front of the crowd. The final four up for king were Basketball’s Dylan Hidalgo, Football’s Matt Myers and Jake Curran, and golf’s Tyler Clark. For the girls the finalists were soccer’s Karlee Perez, softball’s Brooke Hawkins, Golf’s Mackenzie Brewster and Cheer’s Tori Wilcox.
When the time came and the anticipation was over, KWU’s 2015 Homecoming king and queen, the first ever to be crowned on the brand new field, were Karlee Perez and Matt Myers.
“It’s just another story to tell the kids one day. Another cool college experience to add to the book.” – Matt Myers
“It means a lot to me actually to be named queen. This school means a lot to me, so knowing that I meant a little something to the school made me feel really good. So I want to thank everyone who voted, and I want to give out one more big go Yotes!” – Karlee Perez
Congratulations to this year’s king and queen, and to Kansas Wesleyan University for a memorable homecoming weekend.
