Musicians dropping surprise albums is nothing new. Some of the best to do it are Drake with “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” and Beyoncé with “Lemonade” both of which are hits with fans of many genres. But one artist that has recently changed the game. Future released two albums in the month of February titled “FUTURE” and “HNDRXX” respectively. Both Debuted at No. 1 on the charts and set the landscape for a hot 2017 when it comes to music.
Future’s self-titled album left fans satisfied, to say the least. It had been over a year since we heard anything from the Atlanta rapper and we were anxious to get something from him and boy did he deliver. “The whole album makes me want to turn up!” says Chris Duncan. Collaborating with producers Southside and everyone’s favorite Metro Boomin, the album gives us the Future sound we like and the deep southern trap gets us moving. HNDRXX, on the other hand, also satisfies listeners. It is a more honest album from Future showing a side that is often not seen by fans. “Softer” than the album released the week before, the album talks about his life beyond relationships and dealing with issues like that.
Both albums being dropped back-to-back has been huge for Future. He had his fifth; count it fifth, album debut No. 1 on the charts. The only rap artists to do that are Jay-Z and Eminem, so to say Future is in good company is an understatement. Which has got to make him feeling “In-in-incredible”.
