Men’s Soccer beats out Bulldogs
The Coyotes took the pitch this past Wednesday to take on McPherson College. The Men’s team played an exceptional game, winning by a score of 2-0 over the Bulldogs.
The first five minutes of the game was very back and forth, with both teams trying to break each other down to score real early. In the 6th minute, Luke Walters of KWU, scored a beautiful dribbler right past the Bulldogs keeper. Evan Williams was credited with an assist. The following five minutes were focused on McPherson as they recorded three shots and had a corner to put pressure on keeper Fauris Franco and the Yotes defense. The Yotes and Bulldogs both battled to put another goal on the board, but neither could do so. At half: McPherson 0, Kansas Wesleyan 1.
To start the second half, most of the good opportunities fell to the Bulldogs. After switching a few players off, the Bulldogs took even more possession and good chances their way. In the 72nd minute of the game, Michiel Nijsten scored after an absolutely beautiful pass from Jesse Lennon to make it 2-0 in favor of the Yotes. The end of the game was back and forth between the two teams, but no one could find the back of the net again.
The Coyotes ended up winning 2-0, moving to 4-4 in the season and 1-0 in KCAC play.
