Professional Teams Coming to Salina

The City of Salina has recently announced they plan to buy an expansion team into the NHL, NFL, NBA, and MLS. This is a major step towards making Salina a “major” city and generating a lot of money for the city. The MLS and NFL teams will be playing here on campus and the NBA and NHL teams will have a stadium built for them over summer. All teams plan to be ready to be in full competition by next year for their respective leagues.
The whole objective for the city of Salina to gain these leagues is very simple: growth. Recently there has been rumors that the population in Salina has taken a huge blow. The obvious answer to city professionals was to get four professional teams and throw them right into the city. The NFL has been rumored to be called the Salina Sharkheads. The Sharkheads will be playing in the NFC East with the Eagles, Redskins, Giants, and soon-to-be rival Cowboys. The team will hold the first overall pick in the draft next month, and be able to sign either Tom Brady or bring Brett Farve out of retirement. Try-outs for the Sharkheads: April 1, 2017.
The other team coming to Salina besides the Sharkheads will be the Salina Sauce, an NHL team. This may be one of the best team names to ever been established. When the Sauce come into the league next season, they will be guaranteed 100 million dollars in free agency and the top two picks in the NHL Draft in June. Try-outs for the Sauce: April 1, 2017.
The 2017-18 NBA season is scheduled to debut with the Golden State Warriors traveling to Salina to take on the Steam. That’s right, the Salina Steam. Rumors have it Lebron James is extremely interested in coming to Kansas to play. The Steam will be ready to play next season, and they are seriously interested in college students to be on the team. Do you think you have what it takes to play with LeBron? Try-outs for the Steam: April 1, 2017.
Last but not least, Salina City SC will be joining Major League Soccer in 2018. The team is going to be playing on the campus of Kansas Wesleyan, and like the Steam, are extremely invested into the college level students. Salina City SC has also been linked with signing Brazilian native Kaká, as well as Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale. The two will surely cost a lot, but who cares about money when you get good players right? Try-outs for City SC: April 1, 2017.
