Welcome Back Coyotes
Homecoming is around the corner, fall sports are off to a quick start, and the school year is under way. Kansas Wesleyan’s campus has been busy all summer and now it is time to appreciate all the hard work that was put in during the proverbial “off season”. New additions to campus are complete: the hammocks by Pfeiffer hall, the picnic tables by Pioneer hall, and the new Graves Family Stadium which is almost finished and game ready. In addition to all the new changes, the Wifi on campus is also getting a makeover with the help of Nextech wireless.
Great things are happening on campus, and many new faces to enjoy them with. There are now 710 students attending KWU compared to the 507 who were enrolled last semester, including 139 freshmen. With such an astonishing number of enrolled students, this is the largest sports class the school has ever had. The faculty also added a few members to the pack, with six new professors. These new teaching coyotes include:
Assistant Professor of Nursing, Janeane Houchin
Assistant Professor of Nursing, Andrea Picklesimer
Assistant Professor of Business and Accounting, Tricia Petak
Director of Teacher Education, Dr. Kristine Rodriguez
Assistant Professor of Nursing, Kathy Sweeney
Assistant Professor of Theatre and Dance, Karen Babcock Brassea
The Kansas Wesleyan Athletic department also gained two new competing teams: Wrestling, led by Coach Jimmy Hay, and Bowling, led by Coach Todd Zenner.
Welcome back returning Coyotes and welcome home new Coyotes. There are so many new additions to enjoy and plenty of smiling faces to meet. Lets make this year one to remember. Go Yotes!
